Central Veterinary Hospital is a well-established veterinary general practice located in the Bay Area. We are searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Fremont, CA! We’re offering a competitive hourly rate of $25 - 28 per hour based on experience, along with training/career growth potential and comprehensive benefits.

Work Schedule: Monday 9:00am-5:30pm & Tuesday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of Veterinary Assistant experience required
  • Proficient in IV catheter placement and venipuncture
  • Strong experience with surgical assisting and anesthesia monitoring
  • Skilled in lab work and sample processing
  • Strong knowledge of radiology (X-rays) and proper positioning
  • Confident in animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Ability to support client education and communication

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hospital standards to ensure patient safety and cleanliness of treatment and exam areas
  • Perform and assist with catheter placement and blood draws
  • Assist with radiographs, ensuring proper positioning
  • Prepare for and assist with minor procedures
  • Safely restrain patients for exams and procedures
  • Assist with surgery preparation and monitoring
  • Maintain laundry and surgical instruments
  • Support Client Service Representatives as needed
  • Assist Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians with daily tasks
